Biomass pellets, as the finished products of sawdust pellet mill, can be used as fuels or feeds. What are the difference between biofuel and pellet feeds in aspects of raw materials, machines and processing technology? Usually, agricultural straws have defects like small density, large unit volume, low thermal value, easy corruption and difficult storage, etc.
To this, we suggest you to use sawdust pellet mill to densify agricultural straws. The densified products, also called as biofuel pellets, are easy for storage and transportation. If we only use agricultural straw as the raw material of sawdust pellet mill, finished products will be a little poorer in palatability, feed intake, digestive ratio and nutritional level.
Meanwhile, fiber content in straw is relatively high. Cellulose and lignin in coarse fiber can link together in pellets and animals are hard to digest them. To ensure the feeds rich in nutrients, we need to use additives like protein, starch, fat and saccharide, etc. If pellets are rich in the above elements, animals will be more likely to eat them and absorb the nutrients.
