The major contents in agricultural straw is cellulose and lignin. The lignin is a kind of non-crystal material without the constant melting point. At about 110℃, the lignin is softened. Then at 160℃, the softened lignin begins to melt. If being suppressed, the melting lignin can closely link the agricultural materials together. After the cooling process, biomass pellets can be formed. Since the working process of wood pellet mill do not need the help of adhesives and additives, the cost is quite low and there is no pollution.
The forming work of wood pellet mill has two ways. One is the cold forming and the other is hot forming. If wood pellet mill works in the hot forming, wear will be alleviated and the energy will come from the exterior heat. When straws moves oppositely to the working way of pressing device, heat power can be produced.
By virtue of the heat, wood pellet mill can finish the cold forming. To finish the cold forming, the wood pellet mill needs to have larger power. As to the cost for repairing wear, cold forming is more expensive than hot forming.
